Caring Citizen, ESLR : Community Service
Last Friday, we went to Father Ray's daycare center. We did 2 things there which were playing with the kids and helping them organize their storage room. At first I was a bit scared to approach the kids, some of them seem very fragile and some of them just seem to be very wild in general. However I did approach one girl, she was the only one I could approach. Her name is Praew, she does not talk much, she only nods her head so I didn't know much about her, but her personality was definitely very playful and optimistic. After a while of playing with the kids, we went to organize the storage room. It was very tiring for me because it was very dark, hot and humid in there. There were some people who could read thai and some who could not, I happened to be one of them who could read thai so I helped with reading the labels and putting items in the right place. Some labels have no items which fit them, some items have no labels that fit them so it was pretty frustrating for me. I could relate this trip to being a caring citizen; in my opinion, helping them organize their storage room and playing with the kids fits the "CARING" trait. I feel like doing charity or community work is devoting your time to a good purpose so it shouldn't be a burden or be a forced situation, it also shows that you care about the kids, you want them to be happy and the way you did that is devoting your time to play with them. Arranging their storage room for them also shows that you care about the place, you want it to be an organized place, therefore it would make it easier to get supplies. I don't do charity world on a regular basis but I think I should start doing them now, it felt suprizingly nice, most importantly, it shows that you are a caring citizen.
